Somerset is a county in the South West of England consisting of 7 districts: South Somerset, Taunton Deane, West Somerset, North Somerset, Sedgemoor, Mendip and Bath and North East Somerset.
Somerset is known for its nature and as a result, offers plenty of outdoor activities.
Today we present you top 4 facilities in Somerset but, depending on where you live or you’re your preferences are, your list could be different. Not to mention that we couldn’t list every little football or rugby ground throughout Somerset.
The Cooper Associates County Ground (Taunton)
Built almost a hundred years ago, the ground had recently been completely overhauled. It is a ground for cricket, mainly but in children gather here to play football, and occasionally even a small concert may take place in the Copper Associates County Ground. The ground has well-developed facilities including roofed seating and restaurants.
It is located in St James Street, Taunton. Offers worthwhile visits for any age groups, whether you are here for sports or food.

Royal Bath and West of England Society Showground (Shepton Mallet)
As the name suggests, this is not a sports facility but more of a showground. However, the use for the showground has been extremely colorful. For instance, just now there was a local Flea Market while couple of weeks ago we held a country fair here.
The ground is located in Shepton Mallet BA4 6QN and there is something going on almost every weekend throughout the year.
Huish Park Stadium (Yeovil)
This is the home for Yeovil Town, currently playing in the Football League Two. The stadium is not large and very affordable to visit. While mostly utilized for football, the ground has been used for various other activities in 2016 and 2017.
Mendip’s Raceway (Shipham)
This is an attraction for kids as well as adults. For around $6-$12, you can visit Medip’s Raceway in Shipham and spend here all day. It is located in Warren Hill Road, Shipham. It is famous for it’s banger racing, a dirt race with dirty old cars. But it is something that even watching will get your adrenaline pumping.
And the repeat value is amazing. You can get to know the drivers, see their work on the engines and the car itself and, here’s a little secret, you can even drive here by yourself.
